South Beach - Week One

I've eaten, um, tossed all of the bad stuff...

And stocked up on all of the good stuff...

Lunches and snacks are prepared for the day. My gym bag is packed, and waiting in the car.

Are YOU ready to get thin again??

Don't forget to leave me some information about your weight loss goals, exercise goals, tips, etc. I'll be building a sidebar around today's comment section. Be creative!!!

If you are not joining in the diet challenge, please leave a word of encouragement for those who are:)

I will post on this topic every Monday.

I decided on Sonoma. Going to do an hour on the treadmill this morning. I truly have about 30 pounds, but would be thrilled with ten this month. I am going to do this! Thanks for the motivation. By the way, when is the Blogapalooza?

I am doing the Mediterrainian sp? Diet and going to walk for a half and hour unless it rains, then I will play on the Wii for an hour.

Yes, thansk for doing this and I am really motivated to work on these pesky pounds.

For me, I'm going with WW ... not to meetings but on my own. I tried this last year and dropped 15no problem. At least I won't feel as if I am deprived because I can still have my Skinny Cow!
I will be happy to lose 40 pounds. This month I will set my goal at 8 pounds. Now where is my scale...I may have to weigh in at my daughter's house.

My goal is to loose at least 20 lbs and 5 of those this month. The lbs are harder to shed for us "seasoned" chickies! So by spring I will be needing/wanting those capris back!
If you do not hear from me every few days it may be due to lack of alcohol. Please call an ambulance or check with CdubbleU to make sure he has not shot me!

Sigh. I hate being so predictable, doing the New Year's get healthy thing, but my gosh. I gained 5.5 pounds in December. In one month, in one month where I was exercising - some - and using some moderation. I thought.

I'm in. I want to lose a pound or so a week until I level out at a healthy weight for my height and frame.

Again with the (sigh).

First - why is Evan Williams bad?!?

Second - I can't go on a 'you will eat this and not that' diet. I am immediately STARVING! Some kind of weird connection in my brain. So I am trying to eat smarter - less fat, less processed, more fiber, more veggies, etc.

Third - I need to lose 60 pounds! YIKES!!

Hey to all you wonderful LOSERS!!! hee hee I love being able to say that.

I am sorta in... not necessarily "dieting" but drinking more water. That in itself should be better for me, right?? :)

I am thrilled to hear your stories.

Please tell me you didn't throw away your Pepperidge Farm Pirouette wafers, or...God forbid Milanos.

I'm in! I'm doing Atkins-ish. Basically all protein and green veggies.

I have a ton to lose..as in uh, yeah, around 80 lbs. Geesh, that's hard to swallow, but that's what I've gained in TWO YEARS since I quit smoking.
I bought a scale yesterday, along with about my food and had to bring it back because it has too many options, and I couldn't get "person 2-6" programmed correctly. So back to Walmart to get a different one. This is the first scale I've ever owned, but I have to do this right, right?
My short term goal is to lose 25 lbs by the time the East Coast Blogapalooza rolls around.
I did a weigh in this morning and lost .4 lbs in my sleep! I know that doesn't count, but that was the difference between last night and this morning.

BHE, thank you for doing this I will report in every morning.

Good luck everyone.

I am going doing Atkins also. I am excited. And hopeful...always so hopeful!

Baptists are great : ). My parents are Baptists. Are you the right kind of Baptist though? That is the question : ).

I am going to hav to look into this some myself...the food you bought looks like good stuff!!!!

What is going on in July?
Coach will have us all over this coming summer, mostly FLorida but perhaps we are heading to South Dakota too. I have never been that far in the U.S!!! Sad, I know.

I agree with you on the clothes too....lots of teenage girls do look like hookers. Lucky for me, I don't have to battle that one...they are both pretty conservative.

ok, that did not take long...I am IN!!!!!!

I'm doing great...so far! Only one 12 oz mt dew and I had cheerios for breakfast. Just had wheat chips and some salsa. Next will be a fat free hot dog/no bun.

This is the only way that works for me.

OMG - I just tried doing one of the before/after cosmetic makeovers like in your sidebar. She looked so terrible I just had to delete her! No wonder I don't like to have my picture made!!

I am pathetic. I can't give up wine for ten days, or I could if I were in the hospital in a coma, but I"m not. So instead, I'm simply going to REDUCE my wine intake greatly and try to eat better, more salads, more vegetables, less krackle bars and funyons.

You can do it, and this is a great forum to keep you on track.

Can we leave words of jealousy and feelings of inferiority instead?

Wow! This is great! I am very proud of you! and I know that sounds condescending, but I mean it!
Good job!
I am going to try to move around a lot more! I don't have a treadmill, (though, I would love one), and can't really leave the house much due to H. but, there's a lot I could throw myself into with more enthusiasm.

Ok... I'm doing WW. I have, let's just say, lots to lose. My first goal is 25 lbs and then I'll set the next one.

Thanks for the support!

I'm doing the Woody diet. Eat better, eat less, exercise more. I've got a good 60 lbs to get rid of. I'm trying to figure out how to fit the exercise back into my hellish work schedule. I have two, good food blogs to suggest.

Kalyns Kitchen has great South Beach recipes. http://kalynskitchen.blogspot.com

Veggie Venture has WW adapted recipes.

I'm here via I don't even remember where, but I see a lot of faces here in the comments of people I know.
I'm going to sit back for a bit, watch what I eat, get out and walk more, and encourage you when I stop by.
Good thoughts coming to you from Maryland . . .

I have been thinking of a novel approach for myself. It involves simply moving and not eating between meals. I am finally tired of looking frumpy. That's a start, isn't it?

I think it's great everyone can join together to help each other loss weight. Rah! Rah! Rah! G-O Team. Have people you can rely on really does help with weight loss because it's no fun going it alone.

I am so glad that MPW sent me to your blog. When I return on the 17th of January, I will be going on some kind of a diet. Light Hienken here I come. I will not start before going on vacation. I am also looking for a good looking trainer. Can you help? See you on my return. Good luck until then. Will you have a weigh in? Could be fun.

Chere said...

Ooops! Should have said that I need to lose at least 40 pounds and move my butt more. I could even lose 50 but lets not push it. I will most likely do the on-line WW. I sign up for meeting and never go. Maybe if I do the net I can get there. See you when we get back from vacation.

OK I'm slow and forgetful. Email me the specifics. Oh and do I HAVE to give my weight? That would be so humiliating. Lets just say I need to lost enough weight that I'm a candidate for bariatric surgery! Word!
