Summer's Bounty

I hadn't planned to post today. There are just too many other things that I need to get done. Fortunately, I have learned to keep my camera handy.

I went to the bank to pay my payroll taxes, ran a few errands and returned to the office to find this............

Aren't they beautiful? One of our clients had these beautiful baskets delivered to the office. No occasion - he just wanted to share. I'm sure his garden is producing faster than he can consume. I love country people! Even if you don't have a garden, you can always count on getting some fresh veggies in the summer.

I've only peeked about half way down into the basket. I found tomatoes, corn, squash, cucumbers, peppers, eggplant, cantaloupe, red potatoes and cabbage. Who knows what else is hiding in the bottom!

I'll be stopping at the grocery store on the way home to pick up some bread. Tomato sandwich, anyone?

Oh my darnit, now I'm hungry. And my tomato plants are a bust. They look like bonsai plants.

Mmmmm, fresh salsa, anyone?

I remember eating those with my grandfathers garden tomatoes. Fresh ones taste so much better than anything from a grocery store.

HOLY MACKEREL that is a fine looking bunch of produce. It looks exactly like the produce we get from Deltaville...must be something in the water around here.

I'd kill for a good tomato sandwich right now. I'll be right over.

Sign up for EFTPS and save yourself a trip to the bank to deposit those payroll taxes. I love being able to do everything from my computer!!

I'll pass on the tomato sandwich and just chomp on one without the bread, like a peach. Oh, and dibs on the cantalope!

Ok, so whilst I hate tomatoes, those peppers and the cataloupe look amazing! I wish I had a green thumb and could grow things like that.

Well, no, OK I don't. I am missing the gene that every other woman in my family possess which enables them to garden AND enjoy it!

What a bounty! Enjoy it.
