Zzzzzzz

Is anyone else EXHAUSTED? The time change, and the election hoopla, have sapped every single ounce of energy I have. Groggy and lethargic? That's me!! Top that off with a fifth of insomnia, and you have my new recipe for a "Sleepy Girl" cocktail.

First thing this morning, just as I was beginning to muster enough strength to function at work, I saw this http://holidays.bfn.org/xmas/countdown.html. Wait. WHAT? Christmas? How is that possible? I haven't even started shopping. Can't we just get through Thanksgiving first?

And then there's the whole exercise thing. I want to exercise, but I have to actually SHOW UP at the gym for that to happen. I'm in total denial about how tight my clothes are fitting these days. I'm craving carbs on these cold, dark nights. Yes, I need to put exercise back at the top of my "To Do" list. It may be the ONE thing that will morph me out of my current physical state - which closely resembles a slug!

Are you still reading? If so, tell me what YOU do to combat fatigue.

I wouldn't make the meal I posted today then...

LMAO...at least you keep it real.

A nap sounds really good right about now...not from you but from the weather.

Sleep! I know not very helpful, but my brain is a bit sluggish, too.

Today, I'm getting a facial and a full body massage....which is a deal because my body is larger than most. In fact if you figure the cost per sq inch it's almost free. I should be able to incorporate a little nap during those two hours.

Then it's back to reality and Christmas right around the corner. I have a few gifts already stashed and some gift cards already bought.

Ah, fatigue... my constant companion! You'd think I'd have at least something to offer in the way of advice, but I've got nothing. Except that sometimes I just have to give in, surrender to that quicksand and have a nap. I'm told that exercise also helps, but as far as I'm concerned, that's just an unproven rumour.

Hope you're feeling energized soon!

Large vanilla iced coffees from McDonalds!

I am tired all the time too. Exercise would help. If you find out the secret to getting motivated for that please, please let me know. All I want to do right now is eat- you would think I was storing up for hibernation or something.

To combat fatigue? Definitely a big piece of chocolate and a diet Mountain Dew.

Maybe we need to form a Blogger Health Club to keep us all motivated to exercise. I definitely need a kick in the pants!!

I think I have heard that a good 20 minute power nap is a good thing but if you can get 90 minutes it is even better. I tend to awaken a little cranky to be honest with ya. It is rainy and gloomy here and that makes that run down sorts feeling even stronger. I hope you perk up soon. Dance around your living room with the music real loud and see if that helps...Best of Luck to you!

Two words for ya...Mountain Dew!

Have no idea on tricks for sleeping, I have always suffered with this myself and I don't like coffee. :(
I really haven't sleep very well in over 2 years!!

Here's what I had to do today in order to function at zombie level:

4 cups of coffee
1 32 oz iced tea
1 large red bull
4 pieces of chocolate
1 late afternoon mt. dew.

And was still nodding off on the ride home from work.

I've decided there is only one reliable solution: red wine.

Off to get some now.

I'm not even going to make it up to watch Dancing with the Stars tonight. I'm headed to bed right now. Zzzzzz

Make sure you're getting enough sleep (I know, easier said than done but I'm actually getting better at it).

Also... balance out those carbs with a little protein. It really halps.

Having said that, I'm exhausted too!

I suggest you follow Grandma J's comment and then a long relaxing bath to top is off. Oh, a little wine would not hurt either! In the morning, when you wake from semi-coma, you should feel better!!!

When I start dragging.. a nap is a must. Even if I get only a half hour...the power nap helps.

My MIL just emailed me to ask for Christmas gift ideas for my boys. I had the same reaction - howabout we get through Thanksgiving first, THEN let me think about the next holiday.

Fatigue? I have actually been learning to live on less sleep... but I do everything in my power to snag a two-hour nap on one weekend afternoon. Do not get in my way if I do not get my nap.

And I second the "Advil PM" - I actually take half of one Tylenol PM - it's just enough to make me fall back to sleep if I wake up at night, but not so much that I'm all hung over from it in the morning.

I can't get over the time change either. I thought I was just being a whimp but it's really bad this year!!!
