Update on Baby Addison

Last week I told you about Baby Addison.

Despite the fact that she has had a couple of frightening setbacks, this little angel will soon be transported to a hospital that is MUCH closer to home. She is getting stronger every day, and continuing to show everyone what a little fighter she is!

BA's mom has been posting daily updates. In one of the posts, she mentioned that BA's crying was "music to her ears". You see, the baby had been sedated while undergoing extensive treatment, and her parents had never heard her REALLY cry. In addition, being able to cry will help strengthen her underdeveloped lungs. She is being treated by a speech therapist, and the next goal is for her to be able to eat on her own.

Please continue to lift this amazing family up in prayer. It may be a LONG time before our church family meets this little one, but she is already loved beyond belief.

How adorable! I totally understand the joy in hearing her cry. My youngest was only 2 lbs 5 oz when she was born, and was on a respirator for a couple of months. Hearing her first cry was exactly that....music.

God bless Baby Addison and her family!

Speaking of putting things in perspective, as you were recently, this story truly does: most of us parents try to do anything to get the baby to stop crying and some of us even used to cringe when we heard the sound. Who would have thought that there are people out there who have never heard their baby cry and who want that to happen.

This little girl is an angel, her spirit just shines right through. I will keep her and her parents in my thoughts and prayers. She's a very special baby.

I'm a little teary... it's so wonderful to know that Addison is so beloved, and that she already has such a big and loving extended family!

It is great news, that she is crying (wow!) and especially that they are getting to be at a hospital closer to home. My nephew had to spend a long time at a hospital far from home, and my sister stayed in the Ronald McDonald House across the street. It is so hard to be in that kind of situation, away from home with a sick child. I'm sending out extra good thoughts to them today.

Awwwww, I am SO happy to hear that. I just want to pick her up and cuddle her from that photo, I can only imagine how her parents must feel. I will keep them all in my prayers.
