Take The Long Way Home

There's no place like home!! How true. After a 30 minute commute in the evening, I can't wait to turn off of the hard surface road and slowly meander my way to the house. My blood pressure plummets, and I feel myself begin to relax.

I snapped these photos one day last week when it was cold and rainy. The image quality is poor, but you get the idea!

This is one of the spots where deer hang out. They were smart enough to make themselves scarce on a day like this!

I could see a place where turkeys had been scratching in the leaves looking for a bite to eat.

The sun struggled to make an appearance.

Deer can often be found in this spot as well. I usually just see their tails, as they leave the edge of the field and run into the woods.

One more turn...

Oh, look at that!

My beautiful oak trees! I'm finally home.

Would you like to stop by for a visit???

Ok, I'm ready....I just have to set my Garmin to take me E-N/E until I see some deer tails scurrying into the woods and some gorgeous oak trees!

Beautiful. You are definitely my kind of gal. I feel the same way after my 1 HOUR commute. I just wish my driveway was that long. Can you believe how beautiful the leaves are around here these days? Breath taking.

Hey, I was going to bring wine...oh heck a few bottle will be needed. Does not look like there is a liquor store nearby.
Love the pictures. Thanks for sharing. I think my blood pressure just went down too.

Absolutely. You're fortunate to be so far off the main road.

I still don't have word on the Oyster Festival logistics from this end..I'll let you know once I hear.

Oh, I LOVE your driveway. SO lovely! I like that feeling of being home also. Except when I think about getting Kaishon's homework done and finding food to feed them all : ). When I think about that, sometimes I just want to drive right on by!

I suppose I sort feel that way when I first get a glimpse of the bay as we begin our decent down into Willoughby Spit...but the time we pull into the parking space...I am usually relaxed and ready to start the evening.

Your drive way is beautiful and I would love to spend time there. Hmmm, how about 6:30pm, I will come and cook dinner for ya!!!

I used to live in the country and now I live in the city. :(
You are making me jealous with your peacefulness...I live on the route to the hospital. We hear a lot of sirens and I'm not that far from some trains either.
I want to visit!
