Southern Hospitality

Hospitality abounds in the Commonwealth! It's not unusual for someone to hold the door when you exit an establishment, or for someone to smile and speak as you pass. Most folks here are raised to say "please" and "thank you", and their Mamas don't take any lip. All it takes is one trip out to the woods to choose your own switch, and from that day forward you remember what Mama taught you!

Cool Breeze was on his way home from work yesterday when he encountered this nice Southern Gentleman...... Wouldn't his Mama be proud?

pretty funny. And I must say that in all my travles across this great United States...there is nowhere more friendly and polite than in the South. I swear they are just the most hospitable people on the planet!

So, this is why I am carrying my camera around ALL the time...for moments like this. Love it! You know- that reminds me that I was behind a car on 95 the other morning with a license plate that said NO KIM- and it wasn't my husband! :)

I have got to start carrying my camera with me - I keep missing stuff like this on the roadway! Today I saw an old Toyota covered (and I mean covered) with all sorts of lawn ornaments. I saw trolls, the 7 dwarfs, and several Virgin Marys before he was gone!

I love it, too! I think it is the epitome of politeness. He is letting the driver behind him know exactly who they are dealing with, very considerate.

My caboose always looks bigger on film. Tell your husband SORRY about that!

Oh, and I know all about picking my own switch. IN fact a while ago I drafted up a post to write about switches, but I haven't gotten around to putting it up yet. Switches were a huge part of my childhood, unfortunately...

Yes, the south does have the upper hand when it comes to manners and hospitality. I think one of the most noticeable points is the way people drive here as opposed to in the north. Much friendlier and willing to share the road.

Thanks for the laugh! :) I remember my grandma threatening us with the "your gonna choose your own switch"!
