Love And The Olympics

Cool Breeze and I are big fans of the Olympic Games. We often discuss our childhood memories of being glued to the t.v. set watching Olga, Nadia, and all of the other amazing athletes of that time. (Obviously, the gymnasts were my favorite!) During the Bicentennial Year, national pride surged, and our Olympic athletes were the greatest American heroes.

During the games this year, things have taken a strange turn at Casa de Envy. We have fallen in love with other people. It's heartwrenching. After almost 22 years of marriage, our hearts have been stolen by beautiful people on a television screen. Scandalous.

I am in love with Michael Phelps. No further explanation needed. Wow. I could watch that boy swim all day. I could watch him listen to his iPod all day. I'm not sure that I could afford to feed him. 4,000 calories for breakfast sounds expensive.

Four years ago, Snow White commented that he was the only person on the earth who should be allowed to wear a Speedo. She was only twelve at the time, and wise beyond her years. Is it wrong that I am old enough to be his mother?? Cool Breeze has taken things to a whole new level. He is in love with TWO other women. Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh. I have known for several years that he has had a crush on them, but he has finally confessed his undying love. At least he's honest.

I am sure we will work things out during this difficult time in our relationship. After all, the Olympics only last a couple of weeks. Then things can get back to normal!

Hey, we can dream, can't we?

I am boycotting the beach volleyball. I don't understand why the women wear teeny bikinis and the men are in baggy shorts and tanks. How is that fair? I am with you on Michael Phelps. He is amazing on many different levels!

Dream away, girlie!

Mr. Phelps is kinda dreamy, huh?

Yes, SSG asks for a lot- haha. See the comment I just left for her. Apparently there were firemen! I will indulge her fantasy for a few days :)

The green bowls came from....Dollar General Store a few years back. They are heavy and great and I use them all the time. I think the 3 of them were like $10 total or something.

Wait a minute! We're not celebrating me AGAIN today? I am WITH you, Snow White & Kim on Michael Phelps! The guys at work were so annoyed with me saying how cute he was the other day that they tried to convince me he was a nerd, found a photo of him clothed with a goofy grin and wrote "we rest our case" and left it on my chair yesterday. I shouted out from my cube "he's even cuter with CLOTHES on and look he's volunteering. He's SUCH a good guy!"

I love watching the Olympics! The gymnastics were great last night, and It was nice to see MaryLou Reton in the stands. She looks fabulous!

Michael Phelps is hot, and I already know how to swim fairly well. What I want to know is how come I can't eat 4,000 calories a day without gaining weight?

I suggested to my husband that maybe he could shave his entire body like Michael Phelps. We're still waiting for him to say something in response.

Okay, y'all can have Michael Phelps (who is adorable but the ick factor of being his mother's age is just WAY too high) and there'll be more Bela Karolyi for me.

Waiting for it . . . BAM! Didja hear those jaws hit the floor simultaneously?

Gotcha. :)

omg...I didnt know you were in love with him. I never would have said he looked like John Kerry, can you ever forgive me?

Just so you know, the shaving request was met with a less than nice response. Maybe it had something to do with the hedge trimmers I handed him.

Hi. I came across your blog from belladella, and, well, how could I not be drawn to a blog named Big Hair Envy!

My hubby and I actually have the very same crushes, and I too could watch Phelps all day. But my hubby actually prefers Misty May Traenor out of the volleyball girls. Now that track and field has started, it's just not as much fun.
