My First Blogoversary & Cooking Class

It's hard to believe, but today is my One Year Blogoversary! Click Here to read my very first post. Thank you ALL for being part of my world....it's been so much fun getting to know you:)

Last week, my friend T invited me to join her for a cooking class. We were both really excited about attending the class, but neither of us wanted to drive and PARK in the city especially since it was pouring down rain . Her husband, K, agreed to drive us to our destination, and then return later to pick us up. THANKS K!!!

The class size was limited to 20, but we only had 6 in attendance. It was PERFECT because we were able to do a little bit of everything!! We chopped, sliced, stirred, sauteed, sipped wine , and tasted as we went along.

T had attended a previous class, and was anxious to try her hand at making risotto. In the beginning, I assisted her by sipping wine adding the warm chicken stock as she stirred. Once enough liquid had been added, I moved on to something else but T had to stand there and stir the risotto for another three hours. She did a FINE job! Isn't she cute??!

I sauteed something in that pan, but honestly can't remember what it was. Not surprising since I can't remember my name most days. T is still stirring the risotto.

We prepared a beautiful salad with fresh tomatoes and homemade vinaigrette.

There was also a fresh fruit torte made with a lemon sauce. I cut up the pound cake. It was exhausting.

The table was already set when we arrived. It was beautiful, but looked even better when we added the delicious wontons (I fried those babies!!! Thank goodness someone finally told me there were aprons available!) and kicked-up nachos! Double YUM!

Some were not enthused about being photographed for my blog, while others thought it was fun. Can you guess who was drinking wine, and who was drinking tea? The two ladies on the right are attorneys...they were ready to have fun after a LONG day of litigating!!

The evening went by too quickly, as they tend to do. I checked the calendar to see what other classes they are offering in the near future. Next time, I think we are going to get a group of friends together and take a Couples Class. Unfortunately, the wine tastings are booked through August. Imagine that!

Happy Blogaversary!!! You have all the fun...cooking class, cooperative participants for your blog..even though the one on the left looks a tad ticked off.

See if there's a class during blogfest, we can fill it easily! And, if it rains, we can get K to drive us all...in shifts!

We should do wine tasting at my new favorite restaurant. 2nd Tuesday of every month. Could be trouble, ahem, I mean fun?!?
