We're Going To A Halloween Party!

Cool Breeze and I have been invited to a Halloween Costume Party. We estimated that it's been 15 years since we have been to one. I'm not sure I even remember what to do at an adult Halloween Party! I'm sure it's just like riding a bike...

This is where you guys come in. I need your best costume and party snack ideas. I'm leaning toward a pirate theme for our costumes, but haven't settled on that just yet. I don't sew, so the costumes need to be really simple to make, or store-bought. For the snack, I would like to take something that isn't sweet. I LOVE to cook, so the snack can be as simple or as complicated as you like.

Can anyone help?

I wanted to say good morning and that is so very fun about the party invite! I have not been in a long time either and it is so much work to get all 4 kids ready for the hike through the dark neigborhood but I think it sounds like a BLAST! I hope you have a wonderful day---I got some photos up of the hair cut and thought of you for some strange reason, also there are some pictures of lunchdate with Marlene too! See ya later!

I immediately thought of you two going as Pebbles and BamBam.
The costumes are simple too.

So easy to make simple over one shoulder shift like costumes out of animal print.

You put a plastic bone (dog toy) in your Big Hair, and he carries a club.

I'm clueless on the food part, unless you just bring a box of Chees-its. That would work for me.

I am in the same boat. Stumped.

That will be so much fun!!!

Pebbles and Bam Bam is too cute of an idea!!! That is it. You have to do it. I want to see pictures no matter what.

They food...give me a little bit, I will get back to you on that. Food Network has some great ideas for Halloween stuff that is not sweet...spahetti and eye ball casserole?

Love ya,

Marlene

I'm very dull when it comes to ideas for costumes. Tarzan and Jane? Cowboy and Indian? Members of a Big Hair Band? An oyster and a clam?

See, I'm no good at this.

The socket and plug is always good if the party is adults only!

Sounds like a GOULing good time!!

Hmm, I second the motion of Food Network. They always have some sort of festive food. I go to them often for ideas.

I WANT pictures!! :)

I am stumped too, but Pebbles and BamBam sounds good. My boss and his wife are going as Sarah Palin and Joe Six Pack. He bought one of those beer hat thingies that holds two cans of beer. I am sure there will be a lot of that sort of thing.

I have no idea about food except that you have reminded me that I have already eaten lunch and am starving! :)

I love all the costume ideas above..I have not dressed up in eons.
Food? Have you ever made the spicy sausage (Jimmy Dean) dip?
it is fabulous. Let me know, I can look it up for you and it is always a huge hit.

The best costumes I've ever seen at a Halloween party are 1. a girl witha blonde wig wearing a simple sheath dress with a wire hanger wrapped around her neck and a framed picture of Joan Crawford in her hand. (She was Joan Crawford's daughter as portrayed in "Mommy Dearest") 2. At least 2 but as many people as you want all dressed in green or black hoodies and matching sweat pants. Hoodies are on and tied tight around your face. The people are all connected to each other, front to back...First person has antennae, last person has a tail. These people are a caterpiller...Then at some point the caterpiller gets everyone's attention and they take their jackets off reveiling their wings and they fly away as butterflies.

I'm with Bella Della--Sarah Palin and Joe Six Pack ... or her husband Todd. Or ... I went as Audrey Hepburn one year and LOVED it. I did a black dress, pearls, tiara, black glasses and gloves, big beehive (hello BHE!) and a long cigarette and my friend had a blue Tiffany bag she let me borrow. Cool Breeze could go as the dude from Breakfast at Tiffany's! I also love an artichoke dip Mrs. Bob, one of my French travel chickies, makes--one block cream cheese, 1/2 cup mayo, 1/2 c parmesan, 2 cloves of chopped garlic, 1 1/2 t dried dill and you heat it together on the stove top. It's AWESOME with bread or crackers.

And please add one can of drained artichoke hearts in water. That would be the ARTICHOKE part of my dip. Duh, SSG! Time for me to go to bed : ) xoxo, Becky
