Spooky Snacks

We had SO much fun at the Halloween party Saturday night! A big thanks to everyone who offered costume and snack suggestions.

The first snack I chose was "Lil Smokies Mummies" - Just wrap Lil Smokies (mini hot dogs) in crescent rolls, bake, and add mustard eyes. Couldn't have been easier. I saw this recipe when I was standing in line at the grocery store last week. Since I already had all of the ingredients at home, I knew I just HAD to make these! The second snack I prepared was an old standby - taco dip. I've been making this hot taco dip for years, and people don't seem to be getting tired of it just yet. I typically make it in a 9x13 casserole dish, but I decided to use a round baker so I could add the spider web on top. Do you like the spiders and snakes???
There really isn't a true recipe for this, but I will tell you what's in it:

1 lb. ground beef - browned and drained
Stir in one pkg. Taco Seasoning Mix

Layer the following in order in baking dish:
-8 oz. cream cheese - softened
-8 oz. sour cream
-15 oz. can refried beans
-Jar of salsa
-ground beef mixture
-shredded cheese

Bake at 350 until bubbly. Serve with tortilla chips or Fritos. We like Fritos Scoops because they don't break when you dip:)

The recipe as shown in the photo has been doubled.

Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for the BIG COSTUME REVEAL!!! Guaranteed to make you laugh:)

I love both snacks and seriously, I would push someone down for a pig in a blanket...add mustard and I will smack a puppy. (just kidding, I would push down the puppy too)
I loved your comment about the boxer book and hot boxer poster. You are too funny.

Frito Scoops are absolutely The Best. And take a gander at the list of ingredients: instead of being four paragraphs long, it's quite simple. Therefore it must be good for you.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Your taco dip looks delectable!
