Merroir

I had the pleasure of spending Sunday afternoon sitting on the porch at Merroir with the one and only
There may have been wine.

This driftwood bears an uncanny resemblance to our hair after venturing outside to take photos on a VERY windy afternoon!

"No Wake" = Thanks, Daylight Saving Time.  I dread you every year.

On this particular visit, I opted for
the caesar salad and crabcake with remoulade
instead of oysters.

Annnnnndddd, there's the wine...

 CBW,
You always find a way to make
me pee myself laughing
even the worst of days
worthwhile :)

Getaway

The winter BLAHS got the best of me last week, so I decided to take a spur of the moment trip to meet a friend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Sunshine, sand, sea, seafood, and '70's tunes.
Spectacular!

The weather was cool and breezy, but warm enough for jeans and flip flops.
It seems that I never remember just how wonderful the sand feels under my feet
until I'm walking in it once again.
Pity those times are so infrequent.
The sound of the ocean and the feel of the sand seem to sooth the soul.
Well, mine anyway.

There wasn't much competition from other
        shell-seekers,
so I was able to bring home some beauties.
Shells and memories
make the best souvenirs.

As with all good things, the weekend getaway ended much too quickly.
Or, perhaps, right on time...

Porkchop

In my last post I introduced you to Little Man, who is one of the two short men who now light up my world.  Today I'd like for you to meet Porkchop.

My little Porkchop is full of wonder and excitement!  He's very coordinated, and will probably play every sport offered in school...although, he may remain partial to the ball and bat:)  He can weave a story like no other, and his eyes twinkle as it unfolds.

These photos were taken at a recent small hometown celebration.  After hours a little time in the bouncy house, he was ready to cool down with some ice cream!

After the parade and the crowning of the Queen, the band began to play.  This little guy couldn't wait to get out there and bust a move!  Unfortunately, the grass wasn't slick enough for him to break dance, but he managed to show the ladies what he could do!!!  I tried to get some photos of him without his knowledge, but that little ham caught me every. single. time.  GAH!  He just wanted to make sure I was getting his best side;)

As with Little Man, look for more photos of my Porkchop coming soon.

They always make me smile:)

Little Man

There are two new men in my life who bring me great joy.  Today I'd like to introduce you to Little Man.  He is a snuggler, but he's also full of mischief...you can see it in his eyes!

Over the weekend, we attended a local event which included a bouncy house, a parade, a band, and a LOT of community pride!  I had THE perfect shot of Little Man lined up...sitting on his Dad's shoulders, old restored building in the background, flag flying high.  Of course, JUST as I snapped the pic, he stuck his finger right up his nose!!  Typical!

He's not fond of having his picture taken, so I was pleased when he posed for this shot.  I only wish you could see his eyelashes...Hollywood couldn't make them any prettier!

He's a sweet little guy, with a BIG personality!  Look for more photos of this one to come:)

Meet The Parents

Hi! My name is Lucky, and I'd like to tell you about my big adventure. Last Friday, a nice lady named Middle Sis packed me up safely in her car and took me to BHE's house. When I got out of the car, BHE and Cool Breeze were there to greet me. They smiled a lot, and tried to get me to come over to them. Honestly, I was more interested in playing with that big black dog of theirs, and lying in this soft green stuff. I believe I heard them call it grass. It was new to me, and I couldn't get enough of it!!!

They finally convinced me to come into the house, where I found a little snack waiting for me. The other dog didn't even TRY to eat my food. I'm not used to that.

Middle Sis left to go home, and Snow White arrived just a few minutes later. She scooped me up and snuggled me right away! I liked it alright, but I wanted to get down and play in the grass some more. Just about the time I started to get really tired from running around outside, Snow White picked me up and took me into the house for a quick bath. I didn't wiggle a bit. The warm water felt good, and the shampoo smelled really nice:)

By this time, it had gotten really late. Everyone was tired, but nobody wanted to go to sleep. I finally had to give in. It had been a long day.

BHE put me to bed in Snow White's room. I've never felt anything as soft as that blanket! It felt so good that I didn't make a sound all night. I certainly didn't want anyone to take me out of that warm bed.

BHE came in and woke me up at 5:30 the next morning. She said something about having to go potty so we could get on the road. I wasn't sure what that meant, but I played along. Although, it did take me a few minutes to get myself together. I yawned and yawned, and was finally ready to face the day.

BHE had my doggy condo all ready for me when we went outside. She had borrowed it from Noe Noe Girl, and it was just right for me! There were lots of blankets and towels inside....perfect for going back to sleep! We were on the road for 3 1/2 hours and I slept most of the way. BHE stopped twice to let me get out and run around a bit. I thought we'd NEVER stop for good!

The third time we stopped, I could tell something was very different. I could hear a lot of noise, and I saw cars and trucks everywhere. This was all very new to me. Fortunately, there were also two very special people there, Bubblewench and Hubs. Once I realized that they were there to take me home, everything else seemed to disappear! They wanted ME! They loved me enough to make me part of their family!

I posed really pretty one last time for BHE. I saw something wet on her cheek when we were leaving, but I'm not sure what that was. She gave me a big snuggle, and then I was off to my forever home.

It's good to finally be home!
