Tea For Five Thousand

The Richmond Tax Day Tea Party was held despite the pouring rain and plummeting temperatures. It was estimated that 1,500 would attend - the actual attendance was close to 5,000.

We were packed in like sardines, but the atmosphere remained patriotic and upbeat. There WAS a little mudslinging....off of everyone's shoes!

If Grandma J had been with me, I'm sure I would have gotten this man's name. And she would have gotten his phone number...

Pork, anyone?

LOVE. IT. !!!!! It was a cold rainy day, but well worth the trip. I was amazed and thrilled with the number of people in attendance!!! Next time we will make better arrangements to meet somewhere before hand so we are not so separated :)

Kudos to you, BHE! 5,000, wow!
Rain can't change the desire for more fiscal responsibility from our elected officials no matter their party affiliation.

I'm sure that man must be part Texan because we had lots of dangling tea bags here. No pork sandwiches though, darn it!

Sometimes I think it makes it more fun when the weather is like that. People seem to get all giggley and have a good time. Glad you had fun.

Well it didn't rain here and we did NOT have that good of a turn out! Guys on the radio kept saying somting about how ecological it was not good for our Rivers....WHATEVER! IT was still FUN and something I strongly believe IN!

Love the photos...wish I could have come. Must say I loved what the dems called us on a recent news clip Cool Breeze sent me..."Tea Party Nut Jobs". HAHA. Guess they think we're crazy for wanting our elected officials to tell us where OUR money's going!
