South Beach - Week 7
After almost two months of Smacking Down the Blogger Butt, are you all ready to start searching for that perfect bathing suit? Me either, but let's give it a whirl, shall we?
About ten years ago, we vacationed with another family on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I REALLY liked my girlfriend's bathing suit, and asked her where she had purchased it. She told me it came from Lands' End, and gave me her catalog to take home.
I ordered one of the swimsuits as soon as I returned home, and anxiously awaited its arrival. It did not disappoint. The sides didn't ride up, the top didn't sag, and it looked brand new after countless hours in the sun and hundreds of washings.
Every summer since then, I have ordered at least one suit from Lands' End. Of course, each year I have covered up more and more, but there is always a suit available that looks stylish AND covers what shouldn't see the light of day!
I have recommended these suits to family and friends, and have never heard a single complaint! Take a few minutes to check out their on-line catalog. (Just click one of the links on this post.) You'll be SO glad that you did:)

I'll check to see if they have any suits that will cover my South Beach Whale tail!
(still laughing from yesterday)
I am gonna stay in denial that summer is coming for a few more weeks...just too scary to think about right now.
You mentioned bathing suits...and I just crawled under a rock. ;)
I will check out the catalog. But I think I need one of those suits that goofy always wears to the beach...you know, long sleeved, long pants and striped to make me look even better. :)

Yay for Land's End bathing suits. I love mine!
I might need a caftan this year. Just sayin'.
My fave bathing suit is a Land's End one. They do it right.
I will have to check Lands End for a new suit.
It's funny that I gave up on how I look in a suit just as long as I'm comfortable. It usually cost an arm and a leg but so be it.
I've lost more weight! This surprises me because I was on vacation...but any which way, I've lost a total of 10.2 lbs. since January 5th. I'm still as big as a beached whale.
My tail end is not ready for Lands End, but I'm glad to hear you and Grandma J. are still doing well on the diet.
Way to go!!
Oooh, I'll have to check them out. I like the tankinis--it's kind of like still being able to wear a bikini but in tank top (aka loose around the middle) form.
I agree! Land's End and LL Bean both have clothes of exceptional quality. Countless washings later, my LL Bean tee shirts are not faded or shrunk...at all. And I've had them for years.
I have got to get myself a bathing suit, though. I will look at these you are recommending and let you know how I like it after I stretch it out ALL OVER MY BODY... ;-)
I love Lands End suits too. Now come on, one more baby would be the bomb diggity! Let's do it together. Can you talk to Gary for me though because he is giving me problems on the baby front!
Bikini?? I'm getting nervous about shorts and tanks!
Thanks for the tip though...I'll catch up by June! I hope!
NOT wearing a bathing suit. NOT gonna do it. Have not done it in like 5 years. This girl can't swim and BURNS. I mean burns. LOL!
I have been searching for a suit for days now. I am going to Lands' End right now!! I'll let you know:)
Yup, I own the suit you posted ina much bigger size in the choclate brown and it is quite flattering for a fat girl. The worrisome thing is Sears bought them and have been making lots of changes, too many choices and too many styles that are just like everybody else. They don't quite get what Lands End was all about. So I bought quite a few in assorted sizes. My stockpile should last as long as I do as long as I don't get any fatter than an 18. Oh gawd I said it out loud.
I know you didn't bring up the "S" word. I don't even want to think about a swimsuit.
Yet. I'm honeymooning in South Carolina where I'm guessing they have pools and such. And a bay and, you know, THE OCEAN.
Land's End rocks! And the swimsuit you have pictured is gorgeous. I'd buy it! However, I would never wear it anywhere anyone could see me...I'm far too WHITE to carry off that colour and not look like a corpse. *lol*
Auds at Barking Mad!
P.S. I am *still* thinking about July.
I too love Lands' End swimsuits. They really are great. I have a blue one I particularly love. I also love Lands' End sweaters. I have about a dozen of them.
I never would have considered Lands' End for a swimsuit. I tend to hunt and gather from the clearance rack at Target.
I love that purple one that you have shown here! It looks so flattering!
Of course, if I had her body, I'd be in a tiny string bikini from Victoria's Secret, but that's really here nor there.
Hey CONGRATS! you've lost 5#'s! :)
I do not want to even think about suits right now!!! I WANT THE WARM weather etc etc...just not the idea of me in a suit! S C A R E Y!!
