The Cookbook

Last week I posted a meme of "3 Things..." One of the things I said I wanted to do before I die is write a cookbook. With much encouragement from Bloggyland, I've decided to just START the darn thing! I will never know if it's possible if I don't try. Right? Even if it never materializes, I will enjoy the journey:)

What I'd like to do is write a cookbook comprised of recipes that YOU contribute. I'm thinking about having an intro/photo of each contributor, along with a shameless blog-plug, if you wish. My goal would be to meet each one of you IRL so I could include how/when we met, and a photo of us making your fabulous signature dish!

Here's where I need YOUR help. What should the cookbook be called? What sort of format do you look for when selecting a cookbook? What type of cover art attracts you? Are you still reading, or did I lose you at "Last week..."?

That's about as far as I've gotten. Perhaps we can put this thing together when we are all gathered for the filming of the Blog Fest movie. Just a thought!

What do you think?

Hell yeah, girl! What a great idea. You tell me what you want me to cook and I will do it up with some SPIT in it!

How about Cooking with Blisters and the cover art could be two arms with fake blisters and salve cream and bandages. It would be catchy and no one would expect the wonderful story written on the pages.

I love cookbooks that read like a book, have life lessons and inspiration in them...ones with photos of the dish...not necessarily photo instructions, but what the final dish "should" look like.

It will be oool because it will be so regional and varied.

OH. WHAT. FUN! I am totally psyched! Cover art has to have something computer-y with a bottle of wine, on it.
I have several recipes I can think of just off hand to contribute!

How about "Recipe Envy"

Oh, this is good. Very, very good.

I'll get back to you on a potential title, and please reserve the section on salsa for me.

My husband always calls my blog friends my "blogettes." How about "The Blogettes Cook - and Drink."

Love your idea. I would be happy to contribute some recipes.

The Blister Sisters Cook.

OK so I'm crap at coming up with anything clever. But I think this is a great idea.

Come on up and we'll put together a traditional New England Feast!

It MUST have appealing photographs of the dish. If I don't see nice photographs, I put it down and pick up another. Not very chef-like, I know.

And I like the "Recipe Envy" suggestion a lot! Or maybe put a "big" in front of it, making it Big Recipe Envy.

When are you coming...LOL.

I won't be a good help since I am the WORST cook on the planet : )

Did you see Jules and Julia? Doesn't that movie sound fun?

I love that you are following your dreams : )

We can incorporate our blog movie into the book. This sounds like fun. Maybe Bloggers Cooking with Gustaf...then incorporate him into each picture.

Uh, Boils and Blisters? Too gross? Oh well. I have a bunch of great recipes to contribute! I love the idea. I actually started a recipe blog instead of the cookbook I had been planning on putting together to memorialize my grandma's recipes. A blog seemed easier to me at the time, but I do love a cookbook...

I'm not a great cook but I have a few dishes that are pretty good, if I must say so myself.

But I'm drawing a complete blank on a name.
